Principal's Message

Welcome to Chinook High School!

It is an honor to introduce myself as the new principal of this incredible school community. As I step into this role, I am deeply committed to continuing Chinook High School’s tradition of excellence while bringing a fresh perspective to our shared mission. This being my first year as principal, I am excited to get to know our community and to work alongside our dedicated staff to ensure that every student at Chinook High School achieves success.

At Chinook High School, we firmly believe that every student can find success. Our mission is to unlock that potential and we ensure that every decision we make is for the academic, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth of our students. Success, in is not just about academic achievement—it's about nurturing the whole student.

This year, I am particularly focused on fostering a positive school culture where every student feels a deep sense of belonging. We know that students thrive when they feel supported, understood, and valued, and it is my commitment to make authentic connections with our students, understand their needs, and support their journey during their time at Chinook High School.

Taking care of each other and our community is at the heart of what we do. We aim to cultivate an environment where students not only excel academically but also grow as compassionate, responsible individuals who are ready to contribute positively to the world around them. By prioritizing relationships, fostering a sense of responsibility, and building community, we aspire to develop students who are well-rounded individuals.

As I embark on this new journey as your principal, I am excited to collaborate with our students, staff, and families to ensure that Chinook High School remains a place where every student is supported, every voice is heard, and every success is celebrated. Together, we will continue to build a community where every student can succeed and truly belong.

Sincerely,

Keith van der Meer, EdD
