Josh Maret hails from Calgary, where he completed his undergraduate degree in English. After languishing in sales for years, he finally followed his passion and became a teacher (after trying out as a pilot in the Air Force and a few other things). His students are often surprised at the list of different jobs he’s done.
He completed his B.Ed. Degree at the University of Lethbridge in 2016 (seven years after his wife told him he’d make a great teacher) and has been teaching ever since. Apart from his current position teaching Spanish, French, and English 30-1 here at Chinook, he enjoys teaching English 30-1 every year in summer school, proving to students that although they might call themselves “Math & Science people”, they can still really enjoy literature and film.
After school, you can find him coaching football or helping with the D&D Club. When he’s not at work, he enjoys (in equal measure) travel and hunting.
