Tamara Dorchak
Physical Education
Five things that you may not (or may) know about me:
-
Growing up, the name "Tamara" didn't suit me very well so my family started calling me Tammy. Today, I go by both names but most people call me Tammy.
-
I am a proud country girl. I grew up on a farm just outside of Enchant, Alberta. We raised cattle and grew wheat and canola crops.
-
I enjoyed playing many sports growing up (volleyball, basketball, badminton, track, and slo-pitch). I have been an Eagle (Enchant), Queen (Vauxhall), and a Kodiak (Lethbridge College). I played on the Lethbridge College women’s volleyball team for three years.
-
I truly enjoy coaching. I coach the junior varsity women’s volleyball team and the women’s slo-pitch team here at Chinook.
-
I have known for a very long time that I wanted to be a teacher. I received my education degree from the University of Lethbridge. I taught grade six at Gilbert Paterson for one year and I have been at Chinook since we opened in 2010. I am currently teaching Physical Education. The students and staff here at Chinook make me very proud to be a Coyote!
